This post is meant to serve as a jumping off point. Those citations exist for a reason and we encourage you to read further. This post can only address so much.
There was so much that simply couldn’t be covered in such a short post; not to mention a breadth of research that feels like it should be must read material for this topic.
A huge thank you to willatheewisps and a.hearth.witch (on instagram) for going over this prior to posting.
Let us know in the comments if you’re interested in a post going over the origins of the Christian Zionist movement, as well as how it inspired Jewish Zionism.
Did you know that it was a “proto-Christian Zionist” Church of Scotland clergyman & author Alexander Keith who coined the phrase, “land without a people and a people without a land” in his 1843 book?
#op thank you so much for the time and energy you put into this#is there any way you could include alt text or share a link to a doc or something as well#because as many people as possible need to see this
We’ve gone ahead and put it in blog post form, though this post should have had alt text available, just as our Instagram does!
You can read the blog post here.
This all makes me think of another aspect of the relationship between criticism of Israel and antisemitism:
By conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism, this situation created a reality where showing support to Israel can be seen as absolving you of antisemitism.
You’ll see it in Ben Shapiro’s judgment of who’s antisemitic or not. He’ll see someone being antisemitic, and when asked why he associates with them, he’ll say he’s not worried about their antisemitism because they support Israel. It happened with Ann Coulter. His response was “Sure, her tweets were bad, but she’s pro-Israel, so that doesn’t really matter.” This is so dangerous.
Ben Shapiro is always an extreme, but it’s not an attitude unique to him. Here in Israel I still remember right wingers treating the election of Trump as a win for Jews because they felt it’s better for the relationship between the US and Israel. Completely disregarding the horrible influence he had on the lives of Jewish people in the US and tbh even in other countries. Think how much antisemitism they had to disregard to have this attitude.
Conflating Israel with all Jews is antisemitic.
I’ll link the video here but orthodox jews who opposed israel’s occupation were attacked. This was never about judaism and israel never cared about any jews which is known but is coming more clear now than ever. many anti zionist israelis are in danger for opposition towards their government
the neighborhood they raided was mea shearim, the second-oldest jewish neighborhood outside the old city in jerusalem. it was founded in 1874 for ashkenazi haredi communities who were immigrating to palestine following jewish emancipation. among its founders is meir auerbach, the first ashkenazi chief rabbi of palestine.
most of the neighborhood’s residents today are ashkenazi haredi and non-haredi orthodox jews (though mizrahi/sephardic communities also exist there). the neighborhood is deeply religious and follows religious/modesty laws common to other haredi/orthodox neighborhoods.
the haredi council - a religious communal organization which provides religious and welfare facilities - is also located here. though it was founded by ashkenazim in 1921, it includes a sephardic council now as well.
the council - and neighborhood in general - are staunchly anti-zionist on the basis of theology and refuse to associate with the israeli government. notably, neturei karta is centered here, having been created after splitting with the ashkenazi haredi political party agudat yisrael on account of its zionism.
More money than any of us here will ever see in our lives, taken directly from our taxes, is funding death and destruction unfathomable across the ocean. Not universal healthcare, not schools, nothing good. Just death.
Keep protesting, keep up using your voice, and don’t lose hope, we owe Palestine that much
Biden’s White House just released the details of a supplemental funding bill for Israel, Ukraine, and the US-Mexico border, the total of which is $105 billion.
Here’s things that would cost LESS, AND lead to fewer people dying due to occupation, militarization, and imperialism:
- Ending homelessness in the US (Est. Cost $20 billion)
- Ending hunger in the US (Est. Cost $11 billion per year)
- Covering trans healthcare for every trans person in the US (Est. Cost $8.5 billion over 80 years)
The US imperial government always has money for war, but never has money for people.
I’m so glad you asked.
This genocide, and the US government’s support of it, demonstrates more than ever that electoralism has failed. We cannot vote our way out of a system that does not represent us, our values, or our best interests.
So, what can we do??
We build power in communities. We connect with our friends, neighbors, families, and we build networks. We make our communities powerful, so none of us fight alone.
We make it clear to our represtatives in power that our support is not unconditional. No more “vote blue, no matter who.” We tell them point blank, “you do not represent me or my values or interests. Until you do, you will not receive my consent to govern, or the consent of my community.”
We end support for private companies who support this genocide. Organize community boycotts, community demonstrations, community sabotage of company infrastructure. The individual has little power compared to corporations, but communities can topple even the wealthiest companies.
I know a lot of us are paralyzed, wondering ‘what can I, a single individual, do to stop this?’ The answer is, unfortunately, not a lot. That is why the first step, in any radically transformative change, is building power. We need to create blocks of power that can mobilize effectively and quickly. That means communities: your physical, geographic community, people you can gather with and move politically with.
It isn’t hopeless. But it starts in your neighborhoods, your apartment buildings, your cul-de-sacs and developments and complexes. It starts at home.

FUN FACT
Many designer brand names make their big designer labels and their affordable lines BOTH in fast fashion sweatshops with similar quality of labor, pay, and other detrimental factors. One of the major differences, of course?
The price they charge you, the consumer, for the finished product.
Paying more for a name brand doesn’t free you from fast fashion, because fast fashion is not a consumer issue. It is an industry level failure.
The other thing so-called ‘prestige brands’ will do is bring in workers from countries where labor is cheap (like China) to places like France and Italy, pay them garbage wages, treat them like shit, and slap a ‘made in Italy’ label on the product to sell it for thousands.
Article on the topic from 2018. Similar to the exploitation of U.S. immigrant ag workers, basically.
It’s like how “Made in U.S.” can mean made with prison slave labor. Or how a chocolate company can advertise their chocolate as sustainably sourced, except this is a self-determined label and may or may not exclude the use of child slave labor. Or how you can boycott a company but still end up giving them money because it turns out they also own dozens of other brands.
These problems really need a government regulation solution, not a consumer solution.
Keeping this as a pinned post.
My partner supports us both and our food assistance was cut from almost 500/mo to 120/mo for both of us. I’ve been fighting for disability since 2018 but had to move two states since then and am stuck in a loop of having to redo medical testing and it takes forever in Albuquerque to see any specialist anywhere for anything. I was bringing in extra money through tiktok, but recently deactivated for my mental health. I was also doing sex work but stopped because of a cancer scare I’m still waiting on biopsies for. Any help feeds us and keeps us under a roof.

Gonna circulate this one cuz people love a photo.
I had my biopsies and I’m waiting for a hysterectomy now. Struggling to find a pain management specialist who isn’t a bigot and dealing with a lot of pain. Our food assistance was cut to Zero a month because we’ve been too busy and sick to keep up with paperwork and that’s cutting into rent money. We had to cancel an event where we were going to sell art due to sickness an that cut into our money, too.
We’re at 195/500 needed to pay rent as of 1:45PM MST 11/02.
Currently at 275/500 as of 6:25PM MST 11/02 <3
Israeli settlers - who live illegally on Palestinian land and shouldn’t be there in the first place - regularly destroy and uproot olive trees belonging to Palestinians, often striking at night to go unnoticed.
Olive trees are a livelihood for many families, and a key component of the Palestinian economy. That’s how they are meant to survive.
These attacks are by no means limited to agriculture. They also burn and vandalize churches, mosques, homes, cars and… cemeteries.
I saved the worst for last. Israeli soldiers escort Israeli settlers to attack Palestinians then stand by and watch, if not join in too.
According to the UN the annual rate of Israeli settler attacks against Palestinians has almost quadrupled in eight years.

If we work together we can make it happen

ngl the fact that we’re 500 short on rent this time makes me want to puke and die. I’m tired of this and when I talked to a case worker about getting help with SSDI she was like :) just go online and do it :) and gave me useless food coupons that only work at closed farmers markets and only on fruit and veg and nothing else.
we had to spend our own money on groceries too because our food assistance was entirely cancelled and we get nothing now and that’s why we’re even more broke than usual. Because we are too disabled to keep up with paperwork and are drowning. My partner has an appointment with a vocational rehab person in a couple of weeks to try to get a better job within her abilities and I’m still being bounced around pain management specialists rn.

We’re at 80/500 so far. Thank you!
We’re at 140/500 as of 9AM MST on 11/02. Thank you, again. We have until tomorrow before late fees apply.
This is yet another example of their cruelty and violence.
